Nurses Are Burned Out… But Still Showing Up
If you’re a nurse and feel like your last nerve clocked out three shifts ago, the numbers say you’re definitely not alone. 🩺☕
A 2026 national nursing survey of more than 2,000 nurses and nursing students found that nurse burnout has climbed to 67%, while 61% report short staffing and high patient ratios. Nearly half also say they feel undervalued. And yet, nurses keep showing up.
We care for patients, answer 47 questions at once, hunt down missing supplies, chart everything (eventually
😏), and somehow still find a reason to laugh with our coworkers.
Maybe that’s why nurse humor hits differently. Sometimes a little sarcasm is exactly what gets you through the shift.
At The Salty Nurse Co., we celebrate the nurses who are caring, exhausted, slightly sarcastic, and still getting it done.
Stay salty, nurses. You’ve earned it.
